Hope you had a bountiful Thanksgiving and counted your many blessings. Our last meeting of the year is our annual Christmas Party with dinner, games, gift exchange and good company on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. Only members who have paid for their dinner will be able to attend.
We will be meeting at our usual place, Gabby’s Diner, doors opening at 6:00pm with dinner being served between 6:15 and 6:30pm. If you wish to participate in the gift exchange (voluntary participation) make up a table runner kit, using any pattern you choose and include the necessary fabrics for the top and binding (backing and batting not required). Wrap your gift and enclose a card with your name on it so whoever receives the gift will know who to thank. The Christmas Committee will be in charge of the evening’s activities and gift exchanges.
I am honored to have served as your Pueblo West Quilters president this year. Without you, the members, this organization wouldn’t exist and I would like to give a very appreciative and big THANK YOU to all who have helped make this year possible. Block of the Month presenters: Evie Sheldon, Sue Longsdorf, Mary Filer, Cheryl Eaton, Judy Visalli, Karen Stiphout, Helen Cherry & Rhonda Dobek, Vicki Becker, Lisa Mollenhauer, Janet Flick, and Mari Pretzer. All those who worked on various committees: Hospitality - Mary Richardson with assistance from Elberta Wolfe; Webmaster - Evie Sheldon; Nominating Committee - Judy Visalli, Chris Magan, Janet Flick; Audit Committee - Nina Stephens and Virginia Lucero; Christmas Committee - Chris Magan, Faye Kimbell, JoAnn Allen, Mary Filer and Judy Visalli. I want to also thank all of you who worked on and donated LUV quilts this year and Vicki Becker for keeping track and disseminating them. Also thanks to all for the blocks done for the wounded warriors of Eagle Summit in Westcliffe and the Tuesday Night Diva’s who put those blocks together and a big KUDO to Janet Flick for being the point person for this worthy project. And thanks goes to the members who made blocks and worked on the Thank You quilt for Ben and Gabby, with special acknowledgement to Sandy McDaniel for quilting it and Jean McDonald for doing the binding. And most of all, I want to thank, with heartfelt gratitude, my most wonderful board who made my job ever so much easier - Patsy Morris, Heidi Gard and Rosie Gould. Thank you, Thank you.
When many hands work together, everyone’s load is lessened.
