Message from the President

Hello PWQ Members,

Its time for a Hot August Night! Come to the meeting Monday, August 4th, 7PM at Liberty Point Recreation Center and get some hot tips on using specialty threads for quilting and embroidery from local quilter, Jan Shuping, from Creative Sewing. Jan will share her wonderful knowledge and expertise so you, too, can create some great projects.

Don'f forget...
- your coupons for the soldier's families overseas for Danielle Little.
-Quilts of Valor for Ft. Carson injured soldiers for Carolyn Collette
- Block of the Month Log Cabin blocks and stars
- November Quilt Fair donations for the silent auction
- we are collecting things now! Hope you had fun with your Sudoku quilts
- bring them for Sew & Share!

We have a total count of 46 completed LUV quilts for the year so far - Thanks to all who have made them. Keep 'em coming!

My thanks to all who gave me names of places to check for our meetings. We have several options to consider, and we are trying to make the best decision for the future of our club. The board will be making a final decision next week and will report to you at the club meeting.

See you in August.

July 7 2008 Meeting

President Mari Pretzer called the meeting to order. The secretary & treasurer's reports were read and approved.

Carolyn Collette asked for help in making Quilts of Valor for wounded Fort Carson troops. The quilts need to be red, white & blue. You can make blocks, quilt tops or an entire quilt. Quilts must be at least 50" x 60"

The August block of the month was demonstrated. It will be red, white & blue log cabin pattern with an appliqued blue star.

July's meeting was a work night. We enjoyed an ice cream social and then set to work making Sudoku quilts.
